PM_Successful_Premiere.pdf On November 19th 2008, the RENEXPO® South-East Europe, international trade fair for renewable energy and energy-efficient construction and renovation, opened its doors for the first time in the Palace Hall in Bucharest.

Don’t miss this event! Highlights at the premiere of RENEXPO® South-East Europe 2008

PM_Highlights_en.pdf The topic of renewable energy has become very important in Romania and not only as a result of the EU ordinance. The RENEXPO® South-East Europe 2008 from 19. -21.11.2008 at the Palace Hall in Bucharest offers the opportunity to learn early about renewable energy and environmentally friendly energy and power and heat generation.

RENEXPO® South-East Europe 2008 supports economic growth

Economy.pdf In the entire European region, the importance of renewable energy and the associated efficiency technology is growing largely due to specifications from the European Commission. The demand for energy from renewable raw materials is also growing in the Southern European country of Romania.

Take advantage of market opportunities. Farmers can get informed at the “RENEXPO® South-East Europe 2008”

Agriculture.pdf Extracting energy from renewable raw materials: an alternative to the limited fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas and an opportunity for agriculture at the same time. With 14.8 million hectares, Romania is the 2nd largest producer of agricultural products in Central and Eastern Europe behind Poland and currently holds one of the best positions in Europe in terms of biomass.

Bioenergy offers New Markets for Forestry. RENEXPO® South-East updates you on new market potentials and sales opportunities.

PR_Forestry_Market_en.pdf The demand for energy from renewable raw materials is also growing in Romania. Bioenergy especially is considered one of the most promising growth markets. However, although this sector shows great potential, it has barely been utilized. Romania has 6.3 million hectares of forestland, which accounts for 28% of the total land area. With around 90% timber, 1/3 of the forest area consists of coniferous forest and 2/3 of deciduous forest.

RENEXPO® South-East Europe 2008 shakes up communities. The trade fair informs about the utilization of renewable energies and their effects on the energy market

PM_Kommunen_eng.pdf Climate protection and rising energy costs on the energy market are facing us with great challenges on global as well as on local levels. Therefore the European Union has set itself the goal to double its total renewable energy consumption to 12 percent by 2010. On the field of electricity, today’s quotient of 14 percent of the total energy consumption is to be raised to 22 percent renewable energies by 2010. With their entrance into the EU, renewable energies and energy efficiency has become an obligatory topic for Romania. Therefore energy efficiency is to be raised by 3% by 2009.

Water power an important corner pillar for the lasting energy future in Romania. 1st International Conference – Small Hydropower in Romania informing at the premiere of the RENEXPO® South-East Europe.

PR_Hydropower_Conference_en.pdf Hydroelectric power is the second largest source of energy produced from renewable resources worldwide. Therefore it may not be surprising that this advanced technology contributes the largest portion in Romania. In the past, it has already taken on an important role in the production of electricity. Large power plants produce about 30% of the entire power supply and by 2005, 80% of the economically feasible hydroelectric power plant potential was already developed. Plans for additional power plants are also in sight with the government planning the construction of a power plant near the Bulgarian border.

Bioenergy in Romania. The driving economic force of the future! 1st International Conference – Bioenergy in Romania presenting the possibilities.

BioenergyConference_en.pdf Although Romania has great potential for the use of biomass, up to now it has almost exclusively been used for heating and supplying hot water to private homes. Only a small portion is used for modern low-emission power plants. Recently the mind set of the Romanian government has begun to change in regard to energy production, leading to plans for expanding the use of biomass and the construction of wood burning power plants.

The Wind industry meets in Romania at RENEXPO® South-East Europe 2008 on November 19th, 2008

Wind_energyprogramm.pdf The Institute for Studies and Power Engineering together with REECO will organize on the 19th of November 2008, in Bucharest, the First International Conference with the topic „Wind Energy in Romania”.
