3rd International Conference - Small Hydropower Plants in Romania
24th November 2010, Palace Hall, Bucharest

Romania is the 38th largest energy consumer in the world and the largest in South Eastern Europe. It has an estimated total usable hydropower of 36,000 GW per year. Already for a few years 80% of the hydropower potential has been developed an about 30% of the electricity need has been covered by this renewable energy source. Although small hydropower is not so wide spread in Romania, it is hoped that this will change in the near future. About 5000 possible locations for small hydropower plants have been found.
Investors need to be informed about the actual status, laws, financing possibilities of small hydropower energy in the south-east European region.
Therefore the 3rd International Conference – Small Hydropower in Romania keeps up to the tradition of the last two years and will gather under one roof experts and decision makers from Romania and Europe.
